Hi,

I am a hobbyist in wildlife photography, esp. bird photography. I am confused if I really need a monopod or tripod for birding. I do have a very basic cheap tripod, but it cannot take the weight of my equipment (Canon 600d and Canon 100-400mm isII). Till now, I have not used tripod or monopod for birding, since I feel it actually blocks your movement + has limited scope of photography.

If I have to go for a monopod, then I am looking for a sturdy and light weight one that I can carry in the field. Which monopod is good for bird photography? Is SIRUI P-326 with K-20X gimball head worth it? I was looking for the one with triangular base, so that it can stand on ground and work like tripod.

Please help.

Thanks!

I didn't find the right solution from the Internet.
